A few weeks ago I switched to walking barefoot, all the time and everywhere.
I didn't consciously decide to make it a new habit. It just happened. When I started developing my intuition, getting rid of my shoes followed as a natural consequence.
Why do I do it? I cannot really explain it. I just feel so much better when I walk barefoot! I feel safer, more grounded. I also feel wonderfully free! It makes me happy.
It did hurt a lot at first and I got a few blisters. But after some training the skin under my feet got thicker. Now there still are surfaces that I have a hard time walking on - especially hot asphalt - but it's getting easier and easier. I can even walk over small pieces of broken glass without cutting myself. In a few months I'll probably be trained enough to walk just everywhere.
Actually I have gotten used to it so much that my feet protest when I wear shoes now, even my super-comfortable walking shoes. The feet start hurting internally after a while, probably because they're not free to move in a natural way with the shoes on. It's like wearing some stiff gloves that would immobilize your hands all day long.
Hi Rose,
ResponderEliminarA couple of weeks ago I had tought: "It be nice if Rose posted a pic of her feet in her blog..." In the other pic you posted of your body, we could not see your feet. And now here they are! :)
Keep walking the path, dear Rose. :)
With love
Eduardo
Wow, I tried that recently too. A few days ago. I kept on getting synchronicities about it. To give me an extra push, the universe arranged things so that my feet started absolutely STINKING when I wore shoes. So I took them off.
ResponderEliminarBut I got some glass in my foot and had to go to the doctor to get it removed.
I kind of want to keep trying... but I don't want to experience that again :(
@Eduardo: ask and it is given. ;-)
ResponderEliminar(Although I wonder why on earth you wanted to see my feet)
@Andrew: looks like you're being conflicted internally. I don't mean your desire of walking barefoot conflicting with your fear of getting injured again. This seems to stand for a conflict on a deeper level. What does walking barefoot mean to you exactly?
What you're telling us here is something like "I did what the Universe told me and see, I got hurt." Is it possible that you lack trust in your own gut feelings? Or that you're avoiding to get hurt by all means?
Much Love to you both,
Rose.
Thanks Rose, I don't know... but I think you're right in that there's something underneath what I was saying anyway. I'll wait to see if I get any more clues which link with this later on.
ResponderEliminarLack of faith I guess?
How are you doing? Things are really good over here, heheheheh :D
Massive hug, lots of kisses, more hugs, kisses, my beautiful, beautiful Rose :)
Andrew
Hi Rose! Any updates on your barefooting adventures. Are you still doing it ?how tough are your feet now if your still doing it? Can you walk on rough terrain? I've just bought a pair of vibram fivefingers which are fairly close to barefoot.I'm using them for running but my feet are very tender.Going to keep going with it though as I think it gives you a better more natural running style. Blessings.Martin.
ResponderEliminarHi Martin! Nice to hear from you. :)
ResponderEliminarYes, sure I'm still walking barefoot. I still totally love it. My feet have gotten quite tough now, yes I can walk on rough terrain. Actually I particularly love it, it gives me a foot massage! Soft surfaces bore me now.
I think when we go barefoot the posture is much more natural, which is much, much better for the back!
Don't worry about tender feet, the more you practice, the tougher they'll get. :-)
Happy running! Have fun. Much love to you,
Rose.
When I checked out kend?, the instructor told us that newbies often get blisters on the feet. After ~5 months of going barefoot, I won't fear that. ;)
ResponderEliminarI have a bad feeling about our going barefoot after October, though. It's getting colder and colder now. :/
I wonder what they'd do if I tried this at school :D
ResponderEliminar@Víkþórr: wait and see. :)
ResponderEliminar@Andai: try it out and let us know. ;)
Awesome! I love the idea of barefoot walking. In fact you reminded me how much I love the idea so I just took my shoes off & will try to keep them off more often.
ResponderEliminarI wear & recommend a kind of shoe called 'Vivo Barefoot' (made by Terra-Plana) for near-barefoot walking that is a little warmer and more protective.
